Foreign Minister Ambassador Mohy Al-Din Salem Ahmed met with the UN Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy, Ramtane Lamamra, to discuss UN efforts regarding Sudan and ways to coordinate for peace.
The two sides reviewed the overall humanitarian situation and means of assisting the most affected populations, particularly in the city of El-Fasher.
Minister Mohy Al-Din reaffirmed Sudan’s confidence in the UN’s role and the Secretary-General’s personal attention to the Sudanese crisis, expressing appreciation for ongoing UN efforts.
Lamamra reiterated the UN’s firm stance on the need to intensify efforts to end the war and begin recovery and reconstruction across Sudan.
