Hundreds of Civilians Missing in Al-Fashir

Humanitarian workers reported that communications were cut with around 800 civilians on Sunday who were within the firing range of RSF forces north of the Saudi Hospital in Al-Fashir.

A source in the humanitarian sector in North Darfur told Al-Tara Sudan that the RSF is detaining thousands of civilians who left Al-Fashir on Saturday night in major nearby locations including Shaqrat and the village of Umm Jalbuq, and that their fate remains unknown.

The humanitarian worker noted that civilians who fled Al-Fashir had not reached the nearby transit points of Qarni and Tira by Monday morning — routes commonly used by those fleeing toward Tawila.

Independent humanitarian tallies indicate that roughly 2,000 families were in Al-Fashir up until the moment the RSF reached the headquarters of the 6th Infantry Division.
