The International Criminal Court (ICC) has confirmed it is investigating alleged crimes committed in North Darfur.
According to Al Jazeera, the Office of the Prosecutor said there are “reasonable grounds to believe” that crimes falling under the Rome Statute are currently being perpetrated in Darfur.
The ICC expressed deep concern over the ongoing large-scale attacks in El Fasher and affirmed that it is working to verify crimes in North Darfur and develop partnerships with entities capable of assisting in evidence preservation.
