The Egyptian Justice Party referred to the efforts of Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiye Ahmed to reach an outlet on the Red Sea, and to the fears that Addis Ababa’s plans raise among Ethiopia’s neighboring countries.
A statement published by the party said: The speech of the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiye Ahmed, before his country’s parliament, about what he called “the existential necessity for Ethiopia to reach an outlet in the Red Sea,” continues to raise reactions and raise questions about the motives of the campaign launched by the Ethiopian Prime Minister.
The statement pointed out that the speech received a great response from the Ethiopian media and political circles, but in return it raised many concerns among neighboring countries, particularly in Eritrea, Djibouti, and Somalia, which are the countries that the speech addressed as potential destinations to guarantee the sea port.
