Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, expressed his shock at the atrocities committed in El-Fasher, stressing that it is time to end the war in Sudan.
Speaking at the Second Global Summit for Social Development in Doha — which began on Tuesday and runs until Thursday with broad international participation — Sheikh Tamim said:
“We are all shocked by the horrific atrocities committed in the Sudanese city of El-Fasher, and we unequivocally condemn them.”
He emphasized that “the time has come to stop the war in Sudan and reach a political solution that safeguards its unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.”
The Emir added that achieving social development in any society depends on peace and stability, noting that lasting peace is the only path to justice and sustainable development.
