Kamil Idris: The Army Is Strong and Will Not Accept Any Colonizer

Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris affirmed that the Sudanese Armed Forces remain strong and “will never accept any form of colonization.”

Speaking to Al Jazeera, Idris said that controlling El-Fashir requires legitimacy, and that the militias lack both national and international legitimacy.

He stressed that the RSF has no capacity to govern, as its forces “kill women and children in cold blood.”

“The RSF’s control over El-Fashir is meaningless in light of the atrocities they commit,” Idris said, calling for the classification of the RSF as a terrorist organization, warning that its threat extends beyond Sudan’s borders.

He added: “This war was imposed on us. Our message to the region and the world is clear: the RSF menace must be stopped before it spreads.”

The Prime Minister emphasized that Sudan’s National Defense and Security Council welcomed all peace initiatives, including the U.S. proposal, but insisted that peace cannot come at the expense of national principles.

He reiterated Sudan’s commitment to humanitarian priorities and security arrangements, and welcomed UN efforts to resolve the conflict, but said the RSF had defied international resolutions.

Idris warned against attempts by the militia to establish a breakaway state, noting that the army’s tactical withdrawals in the past had always been followed by successful counteroffensives.

He concluded: “The crimes in El-Fashir are tragic, but we have full confidence in our armed forces. The army will liberate El-Fashir and all of Darfur.”

Idris denied reports of famine in Sudan, saying the government is working to secure national food supplies.
