Elsarraj Shines in “The Belly of the Whale”

The Sudanese actor and musician, Mahmoud Maysara Elsarraj, gave a remarkable performance in the series “Belly of the Whale”, which received great acclaim and positive reactions from critics, audiences, and those interested in drama.
The series is shown on the Shahid platform and is written and directed by Mohamed Fawzi, starring Bassem Samra, Mohamed Farrag, and a number of stars.
Mahmoud said: “I am happy to be in a series that includes a distinguished group of drama stars”. Al-Sarraj added: “After many experiences in series such as “Room 207” and “Out of Control”.
It is worth noting that Al-Sarraj is also participating in the big screen through the movie “Shamarekh”, which is expected to be shown in Egyptian cinemas starting next December 7.
Al-Sarraj is an actor and composer. He graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Khartoum in 1987, then studied music composition in the Extra-Mural Studies Department at the Institute of Music and Theater. He took several courses in acoustics sciences, Arabic maqams, and jazz music in Sudan, Egypt, Syria, and the United States of America. He participated in the internationally acclaimed short movie “You Will Die at Twenty”, directed by Sudanese director Amjad Abu El-Ela. He also won the Best Musician Award at the Sudan National Festival in 2018, and the Best Actor Award at the Baqaa International Theater Festival for his participation in the play “Dancing on Embers”.
