UN Secretary-General António Guterres expressed grave concern over recent reports of mass atrocities and gross human rights violations in al-Fashir, as well as escalating violence in Kordofan.
Guterres urged both the Sudanese Armed Forces and the RSF to take swift and concrete steps toward a negotiated settlement.
In a post on X, he stressed the need to cut the flow of weapons and foreign fighters from external parties. He added that humanitarian aid must be able to reach civilians in need quickly and that hostilities must cease.
