Dr. Sulafa Al-Bayli, the legal advisor at the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, presented a comprehensive explanation of the laws and their importance in achieving food security and regulating agricultural activity.
Al-Bayli noted that a ministerial decision had been issued to form a committee to review agricultural and irrigation law drafts. She stressed the importance of this committee in keeping pace with continuous changes in international and regional agreements and in resolving overlaps and inconsistencies.
The importance of agricultural laws lies in comprehensively regulating agricultural activity to ensure food security and sustainability. This includes managing the use of natural resources such as water and land, defining property rights, encouraging sustainable farming practices, and protecting the environment from pollution.
These laws also support farmers by providing necessary assistance, regulating markets for agricultural products, and enhancing productivity and competitiveness within the agricultural sector.
