Al-Burhan: No Solution Without Disarming the Militia

Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, stated that any solution or initiative not including the dismantling and disarmament of the rebel terrorist militia is completely unacceptable.

Speaking at a memorial for the fallen of the Sudan Liberation Army, Burhan said options are limited due to the scale of bloodshed and suffering, especially in Darfur and El Fasher, asserting that the only solution is the elimination of the militia. He vowed to hold criminals accountable and punish those responsible for atrocities.

Burhan paid tribute to the martyrs of Sudan and the “Battle of Dignity,” emphasizing the duty to honor those who sacrificed blood, wealth, or effort for the country. He welcomed volunteers willing to fight against the militia, describing their participation as vital to defeating the rebel terrorist forces.

He also commended Minni Arkou Minawi, Governor of Darfur, for his leadership in ending the conflict and securing citizens’ rights, while praising the joint and supporting forces for their sacrifices and loyalty during the “Battle of Dignity.”

Burhan highlighted the importance of cooperation to eliminate the militia, welcomed displaced persons returning from El Fasher and other affected areas, and proposed reinstating Sudan’s original independence flag, calling for rebuilding the Sudanese state on proper foundations.
