The Al-Muqran power substation in Atbara was targeted by drone strikes on Thursday.
The Media Coordination Council of the Sudan Electricity Company said the attack resulted in the death of two members of the Civil Defense team and caused direct damage to power supply transformers, leading to electricity outages in several states.
The statement added that Civil Defense forces are making significant efforts to extinguish the resulting fire, after which a technical assessment of the damage will be conducted and necessary remedial measures taken.
