US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Friday that Washington’s immediate objective regarding Sudan is to halt hostilities before the New Year, allowing humanitarian organizations to deliver aid.
Speaking at a press conference, according to Reuters, Rubio noted that some countries continue to supply weapons and equipment to the parties involved, including arms shipments specifically to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
He added that the Trump administration has been in contact with leaders from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt regarding Sudan.
