Meeting Reviews Livestock Development Projects in Northern State

Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries Prof. Ahmed Al-Tijani Al-Mansouri began a multi-day official visit to Northern State on Wednesday, where he was received at Dongola Airport by Governor Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Abdulhamid Ibrahim and state officials.

The minister and the governor toured the Integrated Strategic Meat Project in Dongola, operated by the Export Development Group, reviewing its components and role in supporting livestock production. The visit also included the Dongola veterinary quarantine facility.

At a briefing meeting attended by the governor and economic sector ministers, Al-Mansouri commended the project’s experience in calf fattening, cattle insemination, and fodder production. He said the meeting reviewed the state’s plan to implement livestock projects, including aquaculture initiatives.

Al-Mansouri highlighted Northern State’s competitive investment advantages—particularly in livestock—due to its strategic location and proximity to regional markets, revealing the governor’s approval to establish a Livestock Production City in the state.
