The U.S. State Department announced that Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a phone call on Tuesday with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, focusing primarily on Sudan and efforts to reach a humanitarian ceasefire.
Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigott said the ministers discussed the urgent need for a humanitarian ceasefire in Sudan. The two sides also agreed to continue cooperation on diplomatic efforts to end the Russia–Ukraine war and to advance President Trump’s plan for peace in Gaza.
