Minerals Resources Company Records Historic Revenues Exceeding One Trillion Pounds in 2025

The Board of Directors of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company (SMRC) approved, at a meeting held on Sunday and chaired by the Minister of Minerals, the company’s performance report for 2025 and the draft plan and budget for the 2026 fiscal year, amid record success indicators reflecting a major boom in Sudan’s mining sector.
The 2025 performance report revealed exceptionally positive results across financial and production indicators. Total public revenues reached SDG 1.087 trillion, achieving 132 percent of the planned annual target.
The company also recorded a significant surge in gold production, with total output reaching 70 tonnes, representing 113 percent of the 2025 target and marking the highest production level over the past five years.
The meeting reviewed a comprehensive assessment of operational projects, focusing on the objectives of the 2026 plan, which adopts an ambitious national strategy centered on completing the digitization of all operations, strengthening institutional governance, developing the sector, and enhancing the regulatory role to ensure efficiency. The plan also emphasizes raising community awareness of environmental safety issues in mining areas, building trust with partners, and positioning the sector as an attractive destination for major investments, while maximizing its contribution to the national economy.
For his part, the Chairman of the Board and Minister of Minerals, Nour Al-Daem Taha, praised the company’s strong performance and achieved results, commending the efforts of its employees despite current challenges. He stressed the need to double efforts in 2026 to sustain the momentum of achievements, and directed that national-level projects be added to the 2026 plan to further develop Sudan’s mining sector.
Meanwhile, SMRC Director General Mohamed Taher Omar reaffirmed the company’s commitment to its vision of remaining a key pillar of the national economy, lauding the dedication of staff and the high level of coordination with relevant authorities.
