Gold Exporters Call for Committee to Review Export Proceeds

The Gold Exporters Division has renewed its call for the formation of a committee to review and track the whereabouts of lost proceeds from gold exports, noting the heavy costs borne by the country and citizens due to environmental degradation and pollution caused by cyanide and mercury.
In a press statement, Abdulmunim Al-Siddiq, head of the Gold Exporters Division in Sudan, said the demand follows an article by journalist Al-Tahir Satti discussing gold production estimated at 70 tons, valued at more than USD 8.5 billion.
