Drone Strike Targets 18th Infantry Division Headquarters in Kosti

The city of Kosti in White Nile state was targeted today by a drone strike, according to Al-Ghad website, triggering loud explosions across several neighborhoods and causing panic among residents.

Local sources told Al-Ghad Al-Sudani that the attack directly targeted the Sudanese army headquarters in Kosti, specifically the 18th Infantry Division compound, with one drone reportedly hitting the command office inside the base.

Sources confirmed that thick columns of smoke were seen rising from the site, while government forces deployed significant reinforcements and imposed a tight security cordon, accompanied by intensified aerial patrols over the city.

No official statements had been released at the time of reporting regarding casualties or material damage.

The incident comes amid a surge in the use of drones to target military sites in urban areas, raising growing concerns about civilian safety and infrastructure, particularly in regions that until recently were relatively removed from direct confrontations.
