El-Sisi to Trump Adviser: We Will Not Allow Any Threat to Sudan’s Security and Stability

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met on Wednesday with Massad Boulos, Senior Adviser to the President of the United States for Arab and African Affairs, in the presence of Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration Badr Abdel Atty and General Hassan Rashad, Head of the General Intelligence Service.

The meeting addressed a number of regional issues of mutual concern, particularly developments in Sudan. President El-Sisi expressed appreciation for the U.S. President’s commitment to ending the war in Sudan, reaffirming Egypt’s support for all regional and international efforts aimed at achieving security and stability in the brotherly country.

El-Sisi emphasized Egypt’s firm and supportive stance toward Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, stressing Egypt’s absolute rejection of any attempts to undermine Sudan’s security and stability, and asserting that Egypt will not allow this to happen, given the deep linkage between the national security of the two countries.

The meeting also addressed the issue of water, with President El-Sisi underscoring that Egypt’s water security is an existential issue and a top national priority, due to its direct connection to Egypt’s national security.
