The Security and Defense Council convened its regular meeting on Sunday in Khartoum, chaired by the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, with full attendance of its members.
The Council reviewed the developments and implications of the ongoing war between the United States of America, Israel, and the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as the resulting attacks on sisterly Gulf states.
In a press statement, Defense Minister Lieutenant General Hassan Daoud Kabroun said the Council had reassured itself regarding the security situation in the country. He added that Sudan urges the international community—foremost the United Nations Security Council—to assume its responsibility in maintaining international peace and security and to pursue dialogue as a means to end the war.
The Council also paid tribute to the martyrs of the nation who sacrificed their lives for the dignity and pride of the Sudanese people, wishing a swift recovery to the wounded and injured.
