Iran’s New Supreme Leader: Revenge for the Blood of the Martyrs Will Be Comprehensive

Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has pledged a comprehensive retaliation for the blood of the martyrs, particularly over what he described as the “Minab school crime,” which claimed the lives of children, stressing that the enemy will pay the full price.
Mojtaba Khamenei’s first message was released through Iran’s official state media and read by a state television presenter, while only a still image of the new leader was shown. He has not yet appeared in person, nor has any audio or video message been released.
Khamenei also announced the permanent closure of the Strait of Hormuz until the end of the war, describing it as a decisive pressure card on the global economy—a move that could disrupt nearly 20% of global oil supplies.
He further revealed that attacks on U.S. military bases in neighboring countries would continue, asserting that Tehran is compelled to target those bases without directly striking the host countries themselves—an apparent reference to Iraq, Syria, and the Gulf states.
Mojtaba Khamenei rejected any division of Iran, affirming that the Islamic Republic has thwarted enemy plans aimed at fragmenting the country.
He also confirmed the continuation of support for what he called the “Axis of Resistance”—including Hezbollah, the Houthis, and Iraqi factions—praising them as an integral part of Iran’s broader project.
“The Strait of Hormuz will remain a pressure card, and we will not hesitate to avenge the blood of our martyrs,” the Iranian leader said. “Enemy bases in the region are legitimate targets, and we will continue striking them as long as they remain.”
