
Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, held talks on Friday in Asmara with Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki on bilateral relations and ways to strengthen cooperation between Sudan and Eritrea in various vital sectors.
In a statement, Sudan’s Sovereignty Council said that Al-Burhan’s visit to Asmara reflects Sudan’s strong commitment to reinforcing its ties with neighboring Eritrea and expanding mutual coordination in a manner that serves the shared interests of both peoples.
The statement added that the high-level talks reflect the depth of coordination between the leaderships of the two countries on regional and international issues of mutual concern, as well as their joint efforts to promote security, peace, and stability throughout the Horn of Africa.
