The Sudanese Armed Forces repelled a violent attack launched by the Rapid Support Forces militia and the forces of Joseph Tuka on the Jaratt area, south of the city of Kurmuk in the Blue Nile region, inflicting heavy losses on the attackers.
Field sources told Al-Zawiya Net that the clashes resulted in the destruction of 13 combat vehicles belonging to the Rapid Support Forces militia. The army also seized nine vehicles in good condition and captured 75 members of the attacking forces.
The sources added that both the destroyed and captured vehicles belonged to what is known as “Group 147,” which had been stationed in Ethiopian territory in recent months before taking part in the failed attack.
