Ban lifted on Sudanese livestock exports to Saudi Arabia

The Minister of Animal and Fisheries Resources, Ahmed Al-Mansouri, officially announced that Saudi Arabia has lifted the ban on Sudanese livestock exports, confirming that the decision represents an important step to support the national economy and boost livestock exports.
Al-Mansouri explained during a meeting with a group of journalists in Khartoum that one of his ministry’s priorities is rehabilitating slaughterhouses and export facilities to meet international health standards. He noted that several slaughterhouses in Omdurman and Gedaref have been upgraded to export meat to Arab and Gulf markets.
The minister confirmed that demand for Sudanese meat is increasing significantly due to its quality and freedom from diseases and epidemics. He pointed out that Sudan has great opportunities to open new markets in Arab, Gulf, and European countries, especially after the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
He also reviewed his ministry’s plan to benefit from the added value of all slaughter by-products through manufacturing, contributing to generating foreign currency and supporting the state treasury.
