The Legal Department of the Joint Force of Armed Struggle Movements announced on Monday the initiation of measures to confront hate speech and racist practices through two tracks—awareness and legal action—in coordination with the relevant judicial authorities.
Head of the Legal Department, Lieutenant General (Legal) Sadiq Banqo, said in a press statement that the department has begun intensive engagement with all relevant entities to curb hate speech that threatens social peace.
He explained that the action plan includes two parallel tracks: the first is awareness-based, aimed at promoting tolerance, raising awareness of the dangers of hate speech, and guiding public opinion toward national unity.
The second is legal, involving the adoption of all deterrent measures against anyone proven to be involved in inciting discord or promoting racist rhetoric, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
The Legal Department affirmed that it “will not tolerate any violation of citizens’ rights or dignity,” stressing that it will remain “a vigilant guardian of law enforcement” in cooperation with partners in judicial and legal institutions.
