
A total of 3,300 medical and health practitioners took the professional oath on Saturday to officially begin practicing medical and health professions as part of the Unified Activity Program, which includes more than 25 service windows inside and outside Sudan. The ceremony was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ali Babiker Sayed Ahmed; the Director General of the Khartoum State Ministry of Health and Acting Minister, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Badri; and the Secretary-General of the Medical and Health Professions Council, Dr. Zaki Mohamed Al-Bashir.
Representing the Minister of Health, Dr. Ali Babiker Sayed Ahmed affirmed during the ceremony, held at the Normas Hall in Wad Nubawi, that the ministry is working to establish a post-war national healthcare system based on universal health coverage. He praised the resilience of medical and health personnel who have remained inside the country despite ongoing challenges.
He advised practitioners to remain committed to continuous training and to serve citizens with sincerity and selflessness, guided by religious values and professional ethics.
For his part, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Badri commended the role of the “White Army” in confronting epidemics and diseases during the war, emphasizing his ministry’s focus on training and coordination with relevant authorities to facilitate the work of practitioners.
Dr. Zaki Mohamed Al-Bashir explained that the unified activity includes all council branches inside and outside the country, noting the use of the latest technologies and artificial intelligence tools to simplify procedures and provide services to practitioners, thereby ensuring the health sector is supplied with qualified personnel.
