Airstrikes on Nyala Leave RSF Members Dead

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) carried out heavy airstrikes targeting positions belonging to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in several areas of Nyala, the capital of South Darfur State.

Military sources told Ultra Sudan that the Sudanese army conducted heavy airstrikes late Monday night, targeting RSF gatherings at several locations, including Dumaya Camp west of the city, the headquarters of the 16th Infantry Division, formerly under the Sudanese army, and other sites near Nyala University.

The source explained that the strikes killed field commanders who had been supervising the nighttime deployment of troops from the camp to combat fronts, as well as foreign fighters.

The sources indicated that the strikes followed intelligence surveillance of troop movements.

Meanwhile, eyewitnesses inside Nyala told Ultra Sudan that they heard powerful explosions in several neighborhoods across the city, although the scale of the casualties could not immediately be determined.

The witnesses also confirmed that RSF forces had carried out widespread arrests among civilians, most of them young men, under the pretext of collaborating with the army.
