Complaints about Low Corn Prices

Corn farmers in Al- Dinder, Sennar State, eastern Sudan, have been complaining about the low prices, and were afraid of incurring cost of production.
Ali Bashir Ali Bashir, a farmer and member of the Management Committee for Dinder Farmers, said that corn prices are witnessing drops in prices, indicating in statements to “Sudan Events” that the price of a bag of plastic corn is (14) thousand pounds, while the price of a sack of burlap has reached (25) thousand pounds.
Al-Bashir revealed a 50% decrease in corn productivity this year, because of rains scarcity and also due to hike in fuel prices, in addition to the high cost of harvesting.
