Scarcity of Commodities in Gezira State

Citizens of Gezira State complained of a scarcity of consumer goods and a significant increase in the prices of available commodities, after the Rapid Support militia attacked a civilian.
A citizen said in an interview with (Sudan Events) that the price of a pound of sugar rose to 2,000 pounds, compared to 1,500 pounds before the events.
The price of a kilo of flour recorded 1,500 pounds, while the price of meat rose, and the price of a kilo of calf meat reached 6,000 pounds, while the price of onions recorded a very high rate, as the price of a “Rubu- quantity measurement” of onion reached 10,000 pounds, adding that the increase included the price of bread with the closure of many bakeries.
The price of a small loaf of bread reached 1,000 pounds.
