MASHAD: No for Medani’s Ethnic Cleansing

Youth Organization for Darfur (MASHAD) and the (MASHAD) Observatory for Human Rights expressed their strong condemnation and strong denunciation of the atrocities and crimes of the Rapid Support Militia (RSF) against civilians in Gezira State, by initiating campaigns of ethnic cleansing in the region, similar to the genocide crimes it has been committing in Darfur states.
The Observatory warned in a statement on Wednesday against the dangers of mass ethnic cleansing, after monitoring documented crimes committed by the militia in the region, including arbitrary killings and mass graves that systematically target civilians, which threatens to repeat the war crimes it committed in Darfur and directs its efforts to turn Gezira into a burned land.
The (MASHAD) Observatory launched urgent calls to human rights and justice organizations and bodies, stressing the need for immediate action towards containing these crimes and working to prevent their occurrence, noting that the militias, since their takeover of the state, have been working to displace civilians from their villages, and to deprive them of money and honor, and this is coupled with an increase in the wave of displacement and fleeing from the scourge of war, necessitating humanitarian interventions, after civilians lost shelter, food, and medical treatment.
The Human Rights Observatory appealed to the international community and humanitarian organizations to save the lives of civilians, work to provide humanitarian aid and open safe humanitarian corridors, particularly that the region has entered a critical catastrophic stage.
