The Maritime Rescue Coordination Center in Jeddah, affiliated with the Border Guard, carried out a rescue operation for a French captain who was stranded in his sailboat on coral reefs near the Sudanese Osaif port.
In a coordinated effort with the Sudanese monitoring authorities, the Joint Rescue Coordination Center rapidly responded to the distress signal sent by the French Monitoring and Rescue Center and the Competent Sudanese Agency. After the successful rescue operation, there are ongoing efforts to tow the sailboat to Osaif harbor, where it will undergo the necessary repairs to fix the malfunction that led to its stranding.
