SPLM Denies Al-Helu-Burhan Meeting

The commander, Jaber Kumi, the official spokesman for the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement – North, denied the news on the meeting between the leader of the movement, Commander Abdulaziz Adam Al-Hilu with the head of the Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, in Asmara or anywhere else. On other hand, the commander denied Al-Burhan’s request from Al-Hilu to fight alongside the Sudanese army in the war against the Rapid Support Forces.
Media reports indicated that Al-Burhan had met Al-Hilu in the capital, Asmara, during his recent visit there, and that Al-Hilu promised him consultations from the leaders of his movement regarding fighting alongside the Sudanese Armed Forces.

The commander explained in a press statement that Al-Burhan did not ask Abdulaziz Adam Al-Hilu to fight the Rapid Support alongside the armed forces.

Also, he noted that the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North is not a part in the war currently taking place between the armed forces and the Rapid Support Forces.
