Turkey Pledges a Marshall Plan for the Post-War Sudan

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, returned to the country after a successful visit to Turkey, during which he held discussions with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Ambassador Ali Al-Sadiq, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, said in a press statement that the discussions between the two presidents touched on the established and deep seated historical relations between Khartoum and Ankara and economic cooperation between the two countries, indicating that the discussion session touched on the possibility of increasing Turkish humanitarian aid.

He said that the Turkish side confirmed its readiness to contribute to the reconstruction of what was destroyed by the war and to stand by the people of Sudan to face post-war challenges and provide humanitarian and medical aid to them.

In addition to that, the discussion included the Turkish contribution to working towards the success of the agricultural season and activating joint agreements.
