4 Killed in RSF attack on “Wad Ashana” Area

Khartoum – Sudan Events

Eyewitnesses said that at least 4 people were killed as a result of an attack by the rebel Rapid Support Forces on the Wad Ashana area, west of the city of Kosti in White Nile State.

Eyewitnesses explained to Sudan Events that the rebel forces attacked the area at four in the morning today, and that they clashed with the government army’s PSI force in one of the bases around the area, and that fire was exchanged between the two parties before the army force withdrew with the aim of the arrival of major military reinforcements from the city of Tindelti to completely encircle the area and eliminate the rebels. They pointed out that the rebel forces stormed the area and looted the market and commercial premises, as well as the cars. Witnesses alerted that 4 citizens were killed, 2 of them as a result of stray bullets during the clashes, and 2 others were killed by the militias as a result of their refusal to hand over their cars.

The Wad Ashana area has witnessed large displacement operations as a result of the clashes since this morning.

The area has become almost empty of citizens who were displaced from Juba for fear of renewed clashes again if military reinforcements arrive from the cities of Tindelti and Kosti. Wad Ashana region is located on the border between the states of White Nile and North Kordofan, where it is administratively affiliated with the latter state.
