Al-Burhan pledges to hold elections

The Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council pledged by working to ensure the success of the transitional period leading to the elections in which the Sudanese people will choose who will rule them.
When addressing the 19th Infantry Division in Marawe, Al-Burhan said that the response of the citizens of Marawe to the nation’s call confirms the people’s rally around its armed forces, stressing the necessity of training all mobilized personnel in an advanced and sophisticated manner in order to contribute to the defense of the nation, its pride and dignity.
He called for the necessity of taking advantage of the mobilization to strengthen national unity and support the cohesion of the Sudanese by rejecting fanaticism and tribalism and rallying around the nation’s issues.
