Army Responds to Rapid Support Militia Attacks on “Al-Ailafoun”

This afternoon, the Sudanese army repelled an attack, considered the first of its kind by the rebel Rapid Support militia, which it launched suddenly on the city of Al-Ailfoun (30 km) east of the capital, Khartoum. The militia mobilised its forces in the eastern Nile suburb, headed to the city and attacked the “Engineers’ Camp” located there with the aim of overthrowing it. The army responded to the surprise rural attack, causing the attacking force to suffer from heavy losses in equipment and combat vehicles.
