Egypt Imposes State of Emergency on Borders with Sudan

Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture has announced continuation State of Emergency on the bordering zone with Sudan as the area is expected to witness the most violent wave of desert locust after Sudan failed to take the annual precautionary measures due to the looting and damaging of the spray equipment and machineries.
The Director General of Locust Affairs and Agricultural Aviation Department in the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture, Khalid Abdrabu said in press statements, Sunday, that Egypt established 55 bases to confront this wave of locust, which he described as the most deadly, pointing out that those bases will represent the first defence line for the food security of Egypt.
It is to noted that the war in Sudan resulted to the loss ofv76 vehicles allocated for plants protection administration as it was looted and used in the fighting operations, besides the looting of the Insecticide spraying planes which number is declined to 3 after it was ten.
