Saudi Foreign Ministry Welcomes Resumption of Negotiations, Urges Ceasefire

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has welcomed the resumption of the negotiations between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia which will take place in Jeddah today, urging the implementation of the short-term ceasefire signed on May 20.
The Ministry affirmed in its statement, Thursday, the keenness of Saudi Arabia for unification of ranks and topping the wisdom to stop the bloodshed and striking a political deal to restore peace and stability to Sudan.
The statement added that the negotiations are under the facilitation of Saudi Arabia and the USA in partnership with joint representative for each of the AU and IGAD.
It is worth noting that the SAF and the RSF militia responded to the invitation of the mediators I e. Saudi Arabia and the USA to resume the negotiations after it were suspended last July.
