Messi sets a record and wins the Ballon d’Or for the eighth time

Argentine Lionel Messi won the Ballon d’Or on Monday evening for the eighth time at the ceremony held at the Chatelet Theatre in the French capital, Paris. Leo set a record for winning the international award presented annually by France Football magazine.
The women’s Ballon d’Or award was won by Aitana Bonmatti, the star of Barcelona and the Spanish national team, while England’s Jude Bellingham, the Real Madrid player, won the “Copa” award for best young player.
Aston Villa goalkeeper Martinez won the award for his great contribution to his country, Argentina, winning the 2022 World Cup title.
Manchester City player Erling Haaland won the Müller Award, as best scorer.
The English club Manchester City was crowned the best club for men, after winning the historic treble of the league and cup in England and the European Champions League.
While Barcelona won the Best Women’s Club award, after winning the Spanish League, the Champions League, the Club World Cup and the European Super Cup.
