International organization announces the launch of free cataract operations in Sudan

Al-Basr Charitable Organization announced the launch of the fifth campaign for free cataract operations (Thursday), with (400) operations at Mecca Eye Hospital in the city of Wad Madani in central Sudan, bringing the total number of operations to (2000 operations) under the auspices of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid.
The Director of the General Administration of Mecca Hospitals, Dr. Abdel Moneim Al-Sisi, confirmed the start of retinal operations by Dr. Amr Al-Aas, who performed (8) operations (Tuesday), while the number of waiting patients reached (200) patients, as he added that there are (500) patients who need retinal operations.
At a time when retinal surgery specialist and consultant Dr. Amr Al-Aas said that the hospital had imported the latest device to perform retinal operations after operations stopped in Khartoum due to the war.
