Directives to Address Exit of Areas from Production Cycle in Gezira Scheme

Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources, Daw Al-Bait Mohammed Abd El-Rahman, directed the Projects Department to conduct the important studies to address the irrigation problem faced by an irrigation major during inspections at the Al-Gezira Scheme in the southern section. This problem has led farmers leaving the production cycle during the summer season in the current season, and he stressed the importance of addressing the problem in a radical manner.

This was done based on a phone call made by Dr. Omar Mohamed Marzouk, Governor of Al-Gezira Scheme, with the Acting Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources on Friday, asking him to address the problem, in light of his meeting in Barakat on Thursday with a delegation of Fahel farmers, headed by the leader Othman Ibrahim, who presented their suffering.

The governor of the Al-Gezira Scheme directed the agricultural administration to follow up on the solution to the problem with the irrigation department and to take the necessary measures to address the problem immediately so that farmers can catch up with the winter season.
