The Cathedral of the Virgin Mary in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, announced on Monday that its building, located on Ali Abdul Latif Street – in central Khartoum, had been bombed.
Father Jacob Thilikadan, the resident priest, said that the bomb hit the first floor of the building, and those who were in the house at that time thought it was a miracle that it did not kill anyone, as the women and children who were staying there were gathered on the ground floor at that time.
“We cannot imagine the damage that these explosions could cause if they fell on the ground floor.” Father Thilikadan added in statements quoted by the ACN network.
“The explosion of the first part of the bomb destroyed the teacher’s room, wounding him in his legs, but not seriously.
As for the second part of the bomb, it destroyed the sisters’ rooms, and the doors of their room flew off and fell a meter away.” The priest added.
The injured were transferred to a hospital to receive the necessary treatment.
