Collapse of Sesame Prices in Sudan
Sudan Events – Rehab Abdullah
Gedaref farmers revealed in press statements the collapse of sesame prices (Thursday) in the cities of Gedaref and Hawwata.
Speaking to Sudan Events, farmer Al Amin Abdul Latif Al Badawi attributed the decline in sesame crop prices to the delay in opening auctions in the Gadaruf crop market, which is expected to open at the end of this month, in addition to the severe currency shortage.
He said that prices stopped at SDGs 67-69 per quintal, and he considered it a low price given that prices are expected to rise.
