On Saturday, several areas in Sudan witnessed fierce battles between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support militia.
In the city of Omdurman, the militia rained down the fourth hot revolution neighborhood with a barrage of random shells, while the sounds of anti-aircraft guns rang out in the fifth hot revolution, with the sounds of bullets being heard in separate parts of the revolutions.
Army units advanced through two axes, encircling the government radio and television building, which the militia has controlled for months and detained a number inside. From the hostages, clashes erupted in the area and along Nile Street in Bamdurman.
In the Mohandessin neighborhood, adjacent to the government army’s Corps of Engineers, the militia tried to relieve pressure on its besieged forces opposite the Ahmed Sharafi graves, west of Omdurman, and the old Omdurman neighborhoods, by initiating a limited battle there, while columns of smoke were seen on the outskirts of the Ambda area, west of the neighborhoods, which witnessed heavy artillery shelling by the army, which was met with random firing. The militia fired shells towards “Souk Libya” adjacent to the area.
As for the Al-Masid area, on the border of the dividing line between the states of Khartoum, the capital, and the state of Al-Jazeera – central Sudan – members of the militia deployed around the “Masid and Deisa” area and began shooting randomly to terrorize the population.
