A Proposal to Establish a Crossing with South Sudan to Enhance Trade

The Minister of Trade, Cooperation and Supply, Al-Fatih Abdullah Yousif, has revealed a proposal to establish a crossing area and a quality port for border trade between Sudan and the South Sudan, to enhance commercial and service link between the two countries.

The Minister of Commerce said that Sudan has always been the link between Arab and rest of the African countries, calling on Sudanese Free Market zones to make use of those preferential advantages in the framework of its plan that seek to spread its activities expand in the states, and public and private companies domestically and abroad.

He directed, during his meeting (Tuesday) with the Sudanese Company for Free Zones and Duty Free Shops, to host the Red Sea State tourism and shopping festival, due to its unique location, within the Khartoum International Fair, to be held in Port Sudan soon.

For his part, the Managing Director of the Board of Directors of the Sudanese Company for Free Zones and Duty Free Shops, Omer Mohamed Sheikh Al-Din, announced the company’s plan to open up to all relevant parties to serve the country and benefit the partners and citizens in reducing the cost of living.
