Postponing the Opening of Gedaref Schools

Professor Abdel-Wahab Ibrahim Awad, Director General of the Ministry of Education and Guidance in Gedaref State, associated the opening of schools with finding a suitable alternative for the displaced people living in schools, in addition to providing salaries and preparing the environment for opening schools in Gedaref State.
He recalled that the state is determined to gather the displaced according to proposals in which all organizations participate, so that the state can open schools and resume studies in the state.
In a press conference held in Gedaref, he touched on the circumstances of the relocation of the displaced from the internal medical college, denying the death of any person in the process that accompanied the deportation of the displaced.
He confirmed that the number of displaced people across the state living in (76) schools, is (15,007).
For his part, Mr. Abbas Idris, Executive Director of the Gedaref Municipality, said that the state hosted more than 30,000 people fleeing the war as it is one of the outlets abroad. He pointed out that the municipality hosted a large number of displaced people inside schools based on religious and moral motives and provided all necessary services to them through the government of the state, zakat chamber, and charitable people in the state.
In a related context, the Executive Director refuted the incorrect circumstances that were reported in the media to achieve some political agenda, and stressed that the state did not expel any displaced person and was fully ready to provide more services to them, calling on the media to be professional and credible in conveying information from its source.
He stressed that Gedaref will always remain a safe refuge for all the people of Sudan, thanks to the homogeneity of its various components and its interconnected social fabric.
