Virtual Meeting of the APSC on Sudan

The African Peace and Security Council (APSC) held a virtual meeting today, Wednesday, to deliberate on Sudan.
The meeting included foreign ministers and representatives of member states of the APSC and the countries of the Sudan Crisis Expanded Mechanism Core, the Commissioner of African Union for Political Affairs, Peace and Security, and IGAD Secretary-General.
The meeting stressed the need to urge donor countries and organizations to accelerate support for the United Nations humanitarian response plan, fulfil their pledges to support and provide relief to the Sudanese people, and share the burdens placed on neighbouring countries so that they can continue to receive and provide humanitarian assistance to Sudanese fleeing the war backhome.
