Consultations Underway to Prepare Sudan Emergency Budget

Government sources have revealed that consultations are underway to prepare an emergency budget for the country.
Federal government sources who are not authorized to talk to the press said the step was being taken because the federal government is in Port Sudan while institutions and establishments are not all in the town, including the competent departments at the Ministry of Finance.
The sources explained that to prepare a proper budget, the federal ministry has to received proposals from each and every ministry and establishment, in line with directives to be dispatched by the federal ministry, but this is not the case right now
The source added that there is difficulty to prepare a budget along those lines with the country still at war waged by rebel militias. The 2023 budget, frustrated since April 15th, could not be considered a comprehensive budget, with earning sources and departments not operating since then.
