Former Minister: War Negatively impacted education

Former Minister of Higher Education in Sudan, Professor Intisar Saghiroun, said numerous Sudanese professors and researchers have left the country because of security and economic conditions.
Saghiroun who was taking part the conference of Humanitarian Issues in Sudan 2023, hosted in Cairo today, Saturday, pointed out that the instability of the educational process will lead to high unemployment rates among graduates, as many university graduates find it difficult to get a suitable job.
Saghiroun explained that there is shortage in government funds for universities, as Sudanese universities suffer from a severe shortage public funding, which affects the quality of education and scientific research, stressing the need to address these urgent problems in order to rebuild the higher education and scientific research sector in Sudan.
