Dollar Eliminates Import of Pesticides

Deputy Secretary-General of the Sudanese Agricultural Chemicals Importers Administration Osama Awad, on Wednesday affirmed the need to remove obstacles facing import of pesticides.
He complained that that import of pesticides is so weak as a result of many a factor including the current conflict the country is witnessing. He argued that the government has furthermore excluded pesticides from the list of strategic goods.
In addition to this, he maintained, the high increase in rate of exchange rates of the US dollar, the difficulty of purchasing and transfer operations, and the lack of export revenues.
He pointed out in an interview with (Sudan Events) to some challenges related to local companies and the difficulty of certifying goods exported to Sudan by the companies that manufacture their products.
