Farmers: No tampering with Gazira scheme

The Farmers Association in Gezira State described the decision of the Governor of the Gezira Scheme, Omar Marzouk, to mortgage the assets of the Scheme as an extension of the conspiracies and the displacement of thousands of farmers and their families.

The association said that the governor does not have the right to mortgage any of the Scheme’s assets in light of the absence of the Scheme’s board of directors and the complete absence of the real stakeholders, who are the Scheme’s farmers and landowners.

The association called on the farmers and the Sudanese people to expose the plan and thwart it by confronting it by all means and mechanisms of struggle.
